2025 A Year in Review

Insource Corp has always been driven by providing custom equipment solutions that will help maximize profitability. These solutions are often uniquely tailored to match our customers specific business models and job requirements. During 2025 that mission has not only taken our team coast to coast throughout Canada servicing and installing equipment, but also internationally as we continuously seek out new manufacturing partners to help satisfy the needs of our customers as their businesses evolve.

Dozens of installations have happened this year, and as the year winds down we wanted to take the opportunity to look back at some of the more fascinating collaborations we have had in 2025.

Our first stop is at The Admill Group, who saw their brand new Buhrs 6000 Paper Wrapper come into production in early 2025. This high production paper sleeve wrapping system is the first of its kind in the Canadian market and designed to remove the poly wrapping that houses the majority of flyer deliveries in Canada and replace it with an environmentally friendly paper option.

Though Canada Post did state that there would be a ban on plastics for certain delivery methods starting in 2025, The Admill Group started their search for plastic alternatives four years earlier. It was a mission of theirs to protect the environment, an admirable quality in a world where bottom lines usually trump decisions of morality.

Our next featured installation features two familiar characters in the Insource story. One of our most amazing business partners, The War Amps of Canada, a charity that does incredible things across our country every day, and our longest tenured manufacturing partner, Kirk Rudy.

As many of you know, The War Amps is home to the key tag service. Key tags are mailed to Canadians once a year, containing a confidentially coded War Amps key tag to your key ring. Should you lose your keys, the finder can simply drop the keys in a local mailbox and The War Amps will return those keys by courier, free of charge.

This astounding system has been supported by Insource Corp for years now. Not only are the key tags themselves die-cut on equipment provided by Insource, but the envelope inserting technology has been as well. As of earlier this year, those key tags are now being affixed to the letters

This new fully customized line is doing a lot of work, allowing The War Amps to tip the key tags onto a carrier, write back to the system who has been matched with what specific key tag, and read and print an address onto the appropriate carrier before plow folding everything ahead of it being put on the inserting technology.

As you can imagine, there is no one machine that can do all of this work. Insource Corp and Kirk-Rudy worked together to build a custom line capable of achieving the desired results as outlined by The War Amps. The software provided by The Solutions Group was the pièce de resistance, allowing for the full integration of the equipment and camera systems. Without this key element the system would not be able to automatically create records of which recipient received each key tag, the read and print application would not be possible, nor would the diversion of any imperfect products.

Though Insource has historically provided equipment solutions into the mail handling industries we have evolved immensely in the last few years to support different customer bases. In one case, ink jet printing allowed for a smooth transition into the realms of packaging and label printing, which extended our customer base into the cannabis industry.

Over the past few years Insource Corp has worked in the cannabis industry printing lot information onto both labels and cardboard packaging. After establishing our expertise in that area one customer came to us with a challenge, to print directly onto flexible packaging so that they could save on label costs.

With Kirk-Rudy’s G2 line UV Ink Jet print engine, we knew that curing the ink on the surface of the packaging was not going to be an issue, but transporting the substrate could be.

At that point we sent product samples for testing at Kirk-Rudy and were able to build out a line that could guarantee proper registration from start to finish. Utilizing a friction feeder the pouches were fed onto a registration table for proper alignment before transferring onto a vacuum transport. In addition to the suction from the vacuum, compression guides were utilized to hold down the packaging as it passes under the print engine, ensuring a smooth and consistent surface for printing. From there the product passes under a UV curing unit before a camera system verifies the print quality.

Not only was this system able to offer better registration than pre-existing labelling units, it helped our customer reduce label costs, and reduce labour costs, a win at every turn.

The last installation we’ll highlight truly shows uniqueness of what has been our most installed product of the past two years, the Postmark 1170 Rapidcolor. Traditionally this inkjet printer has been utilized as an envelope printer, though we do have customers across the country running pieces such as napkins and coasters on it as well. Thanks to the ability to raise the print head up to 10” in height, the potential applications are as infinite as your imagination as long as your substrate is less than 10” in height and is porous in nature.

Which takes us out to P.E.I. and Raspberry Point Oysters. As the name indicates, this is an oyster farm, and they farm some of the most sought after oysters in the world. Traditionally these oysters are packaged in wooden crates, which itself is a porous substrate. Raspberry Point is utilizing the Postmark 1170 to print their logo directly onto wood for their oyster packaging. Allowing them to print in full CMYK whenever the need arises.

These projects have been truly fulfilling to take from imagination to reality, capping off with the installations in 2025. Though this represents only a small fraction of the installations we completed across Canada this year, we believe the range of applications showcased points to 2026 and beyond as there is truly no application in the realms of print, packaging, mailing and labeling that Insource is incapable of helping with. Whatever your business needs may be in the future, Insource Corp will be here to help!
